Joan Lau

Joan Lau is a motion graphics designer and art director based in Los Angeles.

Joan studied motion graphics at Art Center School of Design and started working at Imaginary Forces immediately after graduation. Over the course of 11 years at IF, she directed and designed title sequences for films such as 500 Days of Summer, Beautiful Creatures, A to Z, and The Tourist.

She also art directed multiple branding campaigns for the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles and was the creative lead on commercials for such clients as Toyota, Microsoft, AT&T, Walgreen's, Lagoon, Kens, and Korean Air. Her work for Toyota has won the silver award at the 35th Annual Telly Awards.
